11 Australian Suburbs Set For Solid Capital Growth Over The Next 5 Years

What’s going to happen in the Australian property market in 2015?

More importantly whats going to happen in the Australian real estate market over the next 5 years?

In todays article I’m going to look at 11 Australian suburbs set for solid capital growth over the next 5 years.

Residex’s predictions for the Australian real estate market in 2015:

  • Australia wide growth of 4% p.a. for houses and 2% p.a. for units per annum over the next 5 years. These growth rates are significantly lower than the average annual Australian growth rates achieved over the last 20 years.
  • Brisbane to be the top performer in 2015.
  • Looking forward our markets are unlikely to perform as well as they did in the past 12 months.
  • Rental yields will reduce as a result of house price growth.
  • In a normal economy you would expect the lower cost areas of Sydney to do well this year. Equally, you would expect markets in other states to follow the example set in Sydney last year, and produce strong growth. However the global economy is still unstable in 2015.
  • Interest rates are expected to drop twice in 2015, before rising again in 2016 – 2017.
