What To Expect From A Strategy Session

Hi there. My name’s Ben Everingham and I’m the director here at Pumped on Property and in today’s video I wanted to talk about exactly what you can expect from a one-on-one strategy session with me or my brother Simon.

Hey there. My name’s Ben Everingham and I’m the director here at Pumped on Property and in the last 12 months we helped 120 investors from all over Australia purchase around about 40 to 60 million dollars worth of property in the Australian marketplace and so in today’s video I really wanted to share with you exactly what you can expect from a one-on-one strategy session with either me or my brother Simon.

So a strategy session is basically a complimentary sit down where we talk about exactly where it is that you are right now and where you’re looking to go longer term and then we map out the series of steps that’ll help you develop a strategy to get there. A strategy session will go for between 30 minutes and an hour and is generally over the phone or on Skype, if you’d prefer to do it that way or if you’re in another country. In that session we really start off by looking at exactly where it is that you are right now so that includes your financial situation, any properties that you own, what you’re doing for work or in your own business. Your assets and your liabilities and so by understanding where it is that you are right now we can get a great idea of where it is that you could potentially go.

So that leads us into the second part of the session, which is looking at what you want to do in the next 12 months and what you would like to do over the longer term. So that really looks at the bigger picture for you. What type of lifestyle do you want to lead in the future and what type of passive cash flow through property investing are you going to need over the next 5, 10, 15 years to achieve that future lifestyle that you’re looking for.

Once we’ve narrowed your why and what it is that you’re looking to achieve in the future, we then look at what’s holding you back right now and for everybody that’s completely different. For some people it might be time, for others it might be limited education, for others that might just be feeling completely overwhelmed and don’t know where to start, but we’ll help you work through those things, address those things, and overcome those things in the strategy session.

Then, the last part of the session is around exactly what it is that you’re trying to achieve from a property, investment goals perspective, so we ask you a huge amount of questions. We help guide you through that process, so that by the time we finish the session, you understand what type of investments there are, exactly what your strategy is for this next purchase and you’ve got the confidence and the clarity to go into the market on your own or alternatively you may decide to work with someone like myself or even our company.

The strategy session is geared around you. It’s a conversation. There’s no pressure. There’s no commitment. There’s no hard sales. It’s really something that we do for our community and for the people that are interested in achieving financial independence through property investing. The reason we offer these complimentary strategy sessions is because I know when I was starting out buying properties, and I’ve accumulated over four million dollars worth of property in the last seven years myself and bought over a hundred million dollars worth of property for our clients. I know when I was starting out, I was overwhelmed and if I hadn’t sat down with someone like myself that had been there and done that or that had great advisors and contacts in their network that I could have been taken advantage of, I probably would have rapidly sped up my journey to financial independence and wouldn’t have been able to do what I love, which is helping other investors develop a clear strategy and actually begin to make those steps to achieve the lifestyle they’re looking for in the future.

We help you through, by asking a series of questions and obviously coaching you through that process if you’re just getting started and we help you really refine it down as to exactly what it is that you’re looking to achieve. Is it cash flow or capital growth or both? Are you looking to make short-term equity gains, so that you can keep moving forward? Are you a passive investor, an active investor? Do you want to brand new property? Do you want an existing property? Do you want something that’s got renovation potential? Are you a metro investor? Are you a regional investor? How much have you got to spend and what can that actually buy you in the current market?

It’s really about understanding exactly what it is that you’re looking for, so that by the time we finish the session, you can walk away and actually go buy an investment property on your own because you’ve got the confidence and the knowledge that you needed to feel that support that you’re missing at the moment. Alternatively, you could potentially choose to have a second strategy session with our business, where we get a lot more granular and look at the state of the Australian market, help you decide on a marketplace, help you decide on the suburbs and the product types and then give you that confidence to really get started in the marketplace.
